JW Marriott Helping to drive Economy

An official with the yet-to-be opened JW Marriott in Indianapolis says the hotel is already playing a key role in boosting the state economy. Director of Sales & Marketing Cory Chambers says the hotel already has $20 million worth of business on the books that would not have been able to come to the state's largest city without the 1,005 room hotel.

Across the street from the Notre Dame campus and within sight of its golden dome, a three-story brick building represents a promise and a culmination.

A promise because this building is the first of a planned 12-acre complex, and a culmination because it captures part of the university's core vision to develop the potential of its research ideas and bring them to the marketplace. At Innovation Park at Notre Dame, "we try to help early-stage companies accelerate and grow," says Natalie Stahl, facility manager.

For Patachou brand, focus on freshly prepared food began decades ago

Local restaurateur Martha Hoover knew exactly what she wanted when she opened her first Cafe Patachou location more than 20 years ago. And she's just as particular about her newest venture, Napolese, an artisan pizza parlor located around the corner from her flagship Patachou at 49th and Pennsylvania streets -- even though when she opened for business in 1989, she had no food service experience.
